:-) You guys all rock! Nicely, the birthday was spent in the company of Rich Comras too, he's out in BC on some work, so we've had a great time the last few days. And all of you out there in the land of revs, what a truly great bunch of people.
Lolly is right, she's been there for me for many years now, back in 97 when we first met and I spent MANY summers at WSIKF teaching people all day long how to fly revs. And it was Lolly who was always encouraging to try and go further with things. And at the same time, Penny Lingenfelter did much the same, always encouraging me, and always flying the Rev flag for all to see.
And, some dude named John came along a bit later too, he's had something to do with it I suspect too.
But, in the end, the result is that I know fantastic people around the world now, rev flyers and other kite flyers and I think of you all as extended family and the birthday wishes here and the deluge on facebook kept a smile on my face all day long. Thanks for that and I look forward to seeing many of you soon!

Hum.... What?
In iQuad, we treat Watty as the target....

Have a fantastic birthday Alden!

HA!
I literally Laughed Out Loud reading about Moody's antics.
You sure know how to pick 'em Ben!
I think the applicable phrase here is :
"The nut doesn't fall far from the family tree"

The weather was about as good as one can hope for in March and the people were just fantastic! I had a lot of fun this time around!

Kiteparty, as it always has been for me, was simply fantastic.
Kinda weird being there Friday for the closed beach! Great flying with great people. A special nod to Rich and Laura for stepping into a spot for demos on the Saturday/Sunday! A big hug for TK for being able to carry on despite what was happening in Japan, tremendous strength! A big one for Willow too! It's one thing to be around us all the time with Steve but she came into her own with him away!
I'm already looking forward to Kiteparty 10 :-)

I checked again this morning as I was packing to get out the door and lo and behold, I can Rich out practicing in the sand, early in the morning!
THAT'S THE SPIRIT!
Wait, no, it's a Backtracker! No, A 1.5 B Amateur!

I think we need to get Ben on some roller blades...
-
Lazy lazy lazy, it's 7:15AM and Rich is not out flying already? What the heck!
But, it sure looks fine, Willow and I roll tomorrow evening.

Those really came out nicely!

It may help. If you try this, my recommendation would be to use a 3 or 4 wrap center and leave the rest as Race, it's the center flex you want to be wary of.

Great stuff, nicely done! The Blasts can be a real handful to fly team with :-)

What a great article!

I'm with Felix, in high wind you can not beat this kite. Fugeddabout adding in that extra leading edge. We used them a couple of times down at SPI and they were great in 25mph+ winds.

I was just about to say, there's a monkey in one of those pictures.... I had a great time, I could go on for hours talking about what a time it was. I'm hoping to bring some amount of iQuad back for 2011, keep your fingers crossed...

Despite the awful weather of a few of the days, we had a great time as always, and as Doma mentioned, Sunday was faaaaantastic, maybe one of the nicest days at that festival that I cam remember.
Great flying, great people.

*wild applause* Nice job guys!

Really, I think we need to invest in handsomer models for videos like this
-
Steve's birthday spankings are all scheduled to occur at South Padre Island next week!
-
I'd agree with Felix, 12x12 would be unmanageable, the flyers at the top would have no air and the ones at the bottom would be hugging the ground pretty tightly.
Still hoping to make it to Berck this year regardless of whether a 100 rev fly can be pulled off, it's an excellent chance for an iQuad 5 year birthday party on the exact beach John and I (some would say foolishly!) figured maybe we could put together a quad team in the Northwest

You know? That's one of the funniest videos I have ever seen. PRICELESS!

Bart, if you loved the beach in the summer, you'll adore it in March
But, if you get to Vancouver, you can come down with me.

My needs are simple. I'd like a credit card, paid by someone else, that is preloaded with a 5 million United airmiles so I could spend a year going to a different kite festival every weekend around the world.
Well, you asked.
Have a great Christmas everyone! And a great 2011!
