  1. I am a newbie to rev flying, less than a year and am having great fun.

In the past I have been a skydiving instructor and entered competitions as well but found for me it took some of the fun out of it.

At the moment I am having great fun learning and flying with others and have no plans to enter competitions.

I think that sometimes entering a scratch team at the last minute was fun where we had a set routine to complete was fun but having the months of training to comlete wasnt for me.

  2. During my first team fly the tension was pretty high, didnt want to let people down.

But after it was over it felt so good, I had had a bad weekend at work and it finished it off on a ahigh.

  3. That looks like a great place to fly and to get away from work.

I had a rotten weekend with work cleaning viruses from the servers, lots of hours.

Left work on Sunday and went to Dunstable downs to fly there.

The Flying Squad were there practicing a new routine and when they had finished they let 3 of us join in for a bit of fun flying together.

It was my first time flying with a group and it really made my weekend and I didnt tie anyone up in knots.

Certainly beat being at work, thanks to everyone for letting me join in.

It has gave me something to look forward to and also a few things that i need to practice on.

  4. I am still a novice but am getting to grips with the hover, looks like you are over reacting to the movements.

Less is more as they say to me. Takes some getting used to the fact that the controls are now reversed but you will get there.

A couple of ways i have ben told are

Start by maintaining a normal hover then as u get used to it start by adding 45 degrees to the hover until you eventually get all the way round to inverted

Also if you go to the top of the window as if you are doing a dive stop but move down slowly and slowly put on the brakes evenly, slow down till u stop, very small adjustments on the handles.

I think slow down and use smaller movements to adjust and lots of practice

  5. When I bought my rev I did not know what sort of bag it was going to come with, had'nt really thought about it as it was the kite i was after.

I have been using the pockets for the lines and handles although the handles are a bit of a tight fit in there.

In time I will buy a bag to put all my kites in so the bag it cam with will be put to the back of the cupboard.

I dont think it matters what the kite comes in as once you have flown one you will get more and want a better bag anyhow.

keep the price of the Revs as good as you can with a cheap sleeve to keep it together and offer bags as an option.

  6. I am not afraid to say hello, need not worry about that.

I know you guys on the flying squad were busy and that you would have talked had you more time.

As i said before I had a great time and will be back.
