  1. The wife and I have booked a room at the Roadway inn and Suites in Longbeach for the entire week of WSIKF. The room is a double queen with kitchenette on the ground floor. It includes free WiFi, no smoking, micro, fridge, cook top, sink, and swimming pool. We would love to have someone/couple to share this with, preference of the whole week, but are willing to go part week if need be. Your cost would be $87 per night. This hotel is on the Bolstad Approach, within easy short walking distance of the festival. One note, we will have Scotty with us, our Scottish Terrier, he is a pretty good doggie. He will occasionally alert on people outside the room. If you would like more info, or are interested, send me a PM or email my wife, Mona, at kittyinpjs (at) MSN dot com.
  2. Who me, make it? Hmmmm, I may or may not have a hotel room set up nearby all ready....... Could be bringing a popup, (for some shade) table, a couple chairs...... There may even be a appearance of Scotty the Scottie too..... :tease:
  3. Any plans for Staturday night dinner get together?
  4. my matching set....... everything else is a hodge-podge.....
  5. I still have the bed available, if anyone is interested. I have booked a room for the entire week, the hotel is on the Bolstad Approch within a very short walk of the festival. PM me for more info.........
  6. The wife and I are looking at a nearby hotel with two beds, we may be able to book it and offer the second bed as a way to share costs. It would be available the whole week, (Sunday night to the following Saturday night, checkout Sunday morning) It is at a pet friendly hotel, and we will have Scotty, our Wheaton Scottish Terrier with us. He is a good puppy, and generally not too barky, but he will alert on people outside the room door on occasion. If you are OK with a dog in the room, PM me, the wife would love to know if anyone is interested.........
  7. Been talking to the wife, I may be able to make it to KP10 in 2012. I just need to know when it is so I can schedule the time off from work.......
  8. I hope there will be a dinner and raffle Saturday night at Chico's again...... I will be donating one of my products again this year for the raffle........ and its not a kite stake......
  9. A new kite and someone to fly with, what a great start! One thing I could add about the SLE is that it does generate a lot more pull than a 1/4" leading edge. This is due to the lack of flex not letting the sail "dump" air off the middle of the sail where the power is generated. Have fun!!
  10. My humble abode is notated...........
  11. Welcome to the family Joe! It is a slippery slope, one is never enough............
  12. Am I the only one to think of a B series progressive stack? :confused!: I have my new goal in life.................
  13. Welcome to the forum! I know I am a bit late, but better than never........... Pretty cool to be able to meet Lee, he would be the one to learn a bunch from. Good Winds!!!!
  14. I might be up for a little West Delta action on 1-1-11............
  15. You know your addicted when you look out at the falling snow and say to no one in particular just how much fun that would be to fly in......,.
  16. I refuse to believe you are 82 Jynx........ If Joe Washed Cowboys truck, he deserves a kite. I know just how much work washing a big ol' Peterbuilt is....... Happy Birthday Joe!!!!!!!!!!
  17. Call Ben or Lolly, they make wishes come true...........
  18. All the stakes in the photos are the "special" ones. PM sent
  19. I have some special kite stakes that are looking for new homes. They are the Davis Glass Marble Kite Stakes. The marbles are hand made by Davis Glass of West Virginia. The marbles are 10 times nicer than the marbles I use on the Original Marble Kite Stakes. Much more detail, different colors, and no pits, scratches and other flaws! I was selling them for $35.00 each with holster at WSIKF. I now have a price of $30 each, with holster, and will include USPS Priority shipping to anyone in the US at no extra cost! Payment, as always, can be made via Paypal. Shipping outside the US will need to have a special quote, but I can do. These are truly unique stakes, and are THE nicest available to the sport kite flyer today. It is time to get rid of that old screwdriver or rusty golf ball stake and show off your gear!
  20. I have so much to be thankful for this year. I am back to Kenworth as of this Monday, full time. My wife finally got her disability. After two years of uncertanty I am finally looking forward to what is coming. Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!
  21. Don't let all the stories of Ben and grumpyness issues sway anyone. He is a softie where it counts, in his heart. Love Ya Ben!
  22. For anyone who is considering buying a Rev, this would be a great way to get a kite and save a few clams. I will vouch for Bart, good guy, and he takes good care of his equipment. I hope you can find new owners for these kites Bart!
  23. סמי יום הולדת שמח! אל תתנו עשיר ו הכנופיה נאפשר לך מדי הרבה.....
  24. Its been one year all ready??? Halfway through the "Newlywed" phase! (I have been told that it is two years long) I hope you two had the time to celebrate!
  25. After much thought, scouring my memory, I am going to have to say I am not responsible for Frans lines. I never was asked to leave a grid to fly/practice with Martin Linford of the Decs, I was always in the middle or on the left in grids, never on the right, and I never had any collisions with anyone during the small (16-20) grids. I did snap Johns line, for that I am very sorry for. I am still willing to make up for that if that is want he wants. In all hindsight, I wish I had been approached with this privately, I would have done the right thing, but that is all water under the bridge. Now that this thread is pinned, let it be a example of what not to do, on the field or in public forum. It has been nice flying with all of you, take care all Walt
