  1. John has it right, start with the shorter handles. I have found the B2 much less forgiving with over-controling. The longer handles would make it worse, but once you get used to it..... I have inadvertently pulled my B2 out of the sky a few times with a pair of Snagless Pro 11 inch handles due to over-control. This is not all bad, it also axles like a dream because of this characteristic.
  2. Since no one has posted this one.......... When: February 3rd-5th 2012 Where: Next to the convention center on South Padre Is. Link: http://www.bskites.com/ I am going, it will be the first festival outside the Pacific Northwest I have ever gone to. Who can I expect to see?
  3. Happy Holidays everyone! I am looking forward to the new year, with hopes of the economy improving, and that everyone who needs a good job finds a great one instead.
  4. I am seriously thinking about going to South Padre Island kite fest, it would be the first non-pacific northwest festival I would have ever gone to. I have not flown on a airline since 9-11, and do not know what to expect at the airport. I would love to bring kite stakes with me, but I have no idea if they would still be in my luggage when I got there. Can my Rev Bag with all the kites be taken as a carry on, checked baggage, or best left at home? Are spars allowed? I know there are some well traveled folks here, what do you leave at home, and how do you get stuff you need at the fest past security at the airport? If this stuff is not allowed at all, how would I get it there?
  5. I have commissioned Carolyn of Leshock Arts to help me make up a new logo! I had a bit of a mind flash at WSIKF last August, and had to make it a reality. I figure we all need to let the world know we DO know how to use our kite stake! If you like this and want it on a T-shirt, mouse pad, or even a (say its not so!) thong, please give my Café Press store a visit! http://www.cafepress.com/ls_custom_kite Thank You Carolyn!
  6. WOW! Is it my imagination, or did the spots go fast this year? I look forward to meeting all the new faces this year, especially those who traveled thousands of miles just to get abused by the fickle Long Beach weather in march, and by them silly iQuad blokes..........
  7. I plan on being there in a supportive role as usual. Of course I will bring a rack full of my kite stakes as well........
  8. Welcome to the fun! Definitely need to learn from others, it makes getting "it" easier and happen sooner. If you can wait a few months, iQuad puts on a Rev Clinic in Long Beach Wa sometime during March. (Any plans on that yet JB?) You get to learn from some of the top fliers, spend a weekend flying on smooth ocean breezes, and experience the manic weather that the coast can bring that time of year. Hope to see ya out flying some time!
  9. The park at Lake Meridian can get very crowded on nice days. I haven't been there in years, but I do not remember there being very much space for sport kites. Ask any of the iQuad guys, they will tell ya Kitehenge is a great place to fly, for a planned outing. The drive to Kitehenge is really not that far, about 45 minutes from Covington. I will PM my cell number, text or call if you would like to meet up there sometime! Here is a good web site for wind conditions at Chambers Creek Golf Course: http://www.weather.com/outlook/recreation/golf/hourbyhour/1572501:5 Look for winds at or above 5mph, otherwise it is really light wind conditions......
  10. Welcome to Washington State! We need to meet up some time so I can show you Kitehenge. The Kent and Auburn area (my old stomping grounds and where I grew up) has the problem of lots of people, not enough parks, and the parks there have lots of trees and too many people using them. Chambers Creek Central Meadow (Kitehenge) is in University Place, just south of the Narrows Bridge. Marymoore Park, Redmond, Gas Works Park, north end of Lake Union, and Magnuson Park (Kite Hill) in Seattle on lake Washington) are a couple other semi famous kite places. You may be able to find a school soccer field or neighborhood park that you can fly in. There is always the 3 hour drive to the coast.........
  11. And that leads to the possibility of a all Bazzer sewn progressive stack.............
  12. After discussion with Lolly, and several requests from the Rev family, I am now making 11 inch Snagless Pro Handles for the B2! This photo is the latest batch I am sending to revolution tomorrow, and I am sure the 11 inch I made are going to go quick! As always I can make more, just let Lolly or your favorite authorized Revolution dealer know you want a pair and we will make it happen! The Snagless Pro Handle line up is: 17" 15" 13" 11"
  13. I have added a kite to the bag, but it is officially for my wife. It is a Dare To Dream limited edition. Beautiful kite for a very good cause. And I did get a real Rev Bag!!!
  14. I know it is possible, but what program do you use to edit music files? I did a quick search and found a bunch of downloadable software, purportedly for free, but want to get one that works, is free, and is not hard to learn how to use. I mainly want it to shorten a music track that is too long time wise by removing sections that do not add to the demonstration as a whole. Links to your favorite software would be appriciated......
  15. It is amazing that a relatively small quake was felt over such a huge area. The last sizable quake to hit the PNW, was a 6.3, and was felt mainly in the Puget sound area that is about 75 miles wide and 100 miles long. The 5.3 quake, centered in Virginia, was felt from Canada to Georgia, and as far east as Chicago! I hope no in the Rev family had any losses, and everyone is OK!
  16. I had a great time. Scotty was wore out by Wednesday night, and was so happy to be back home. I got involved in the mass ascensions, and got all four pins. Next year I hope to have a banner made so I get into the parade of colors. It would be real neat if we could get B, but I'm not going to hold my breath......
  17. +1, a B2 was horse traded into my overstuffed beach chair bag. next is to actually get a real Rev bag..........
  18. It is made with the hottest pepper known at this time at 1.4+ million scoville units. a Jalapeno is only 2000-5000 scoville......The salsa I made is awesome! I am enjoying some right now!
  19. The wife and I are in the room. There are three food joints and one bar within a one minute walk of the door. We are on the ground floor, at the end of the building. If someone needs a bed, the offer still stands at $87 a night. If anyone wants to come by and visit, room 110. I have some chips and Scorpion Strike Salsa to share....
  20. I will have to talk to him when he gets to Longbeach later this week....... I have no excuse. It is in my home state, 3 hour drive, and lasts for a whole week+!!!! If I can not make it then I need to re-evaluate my priorities in life.......
  21. The B2 takes off faster than a plate of tamales in Tijuana, and axels like nobodies business. I had fun with one in Hillsboro a couple weeks ago. If I can sell a few stakes, I am gonna get one from TKS........
  22. I was thinking that its gonna be a long walk to the beer garden..........
  23. Oh My God ! Is it just over a week to go???? I am busy out in the shop making stuff........ Can't Wait!!!!!!
  24. The wife and I will be there with Scotty Saturday, and will be there all week. If anyone is looking for a place to stay, and real close to the main action, I know someone you could ask......
